“In search of Estrela” is a fictional work that, through a strong documentary gesture, explores the landscapes and inhabitants of Serra da Estrela. The narrative follows the legend of the shepherd and the star (estrela), leading the viewer through a filmic experience that reflects the metaphorical coexistence between history and landscape. The film is a timeless portrait of this paradise threatened by progress, inviting reflection on the price of modernity and the separation from something essential that seems lost.

Screening of the film with the presence of Elisa Bogalheiro: producer, director and manager of creative projects with a passport full of stamps. After graduating in German and English Philology, she ventured as a journalist and producer in various media outlets, until making her debut as a director in 2022 with the documentary “The great creators”. Her first international co-production as executive producer, ‘À Busca da Estrela’, premiered in 2023 (Porto Post Doc Film Festival) and in Spain in November (Gijón International Film Festival). The film and the production company will be at Fábrica da Criatividade, Castelo Branco, on 21 July 2024, as part of the PES Seminar on Art and Sustainable Tourism.
