This issue of the M\u00e9sozoaires<\/a> journal seeks to establish connections between art, agriculture and biodiversity. The articles aim to reconsider our relationship with geography, geology, society and politics, and our attitude towards the living world, the planet and the biosphere. The articles also question the ecosystems we desire for the future.
This field of study has been developing since 2015 within the pedagogy of ESAAIX \u2014 L\u2019\u00c9cole Sup\u00e9rieure d’Art d’Aix-en-Provence<\/a> \u2014 and in the research and creative activities of its Locus Sonus Vitae laboratory<\/a>.
This area of specialisation is part of the Entre Serras Project (PES_CE), which is co-funded by the European Union and aims to create a network of contemporary art in rural areas, particularly in mountainous regions. Through collaboration with artists and diverse audiences, inclusive and holistic visions are explored through experiences and research projects, fostering dialogue between different worlds and seeking to unite art, agriculture and biodiversity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The thematic workshops on ‘Art, Agriculture and Biodiversity’, which took place in France in December 2024, provided the basis for the proposals compiled in this edition. These conferences preceded the seminar ‘Art, Life and Networked Landscapes’, organised by the Vostell Malpartida Museum<\/a> and the Malpartida de C\u00e1ceres Town Council in Spain in March 2025. They also followed the seminar ‘Art, Tourism and Landscape’, which took place in Castelo Branco, Portugal, in July 2024. Within this framework of shared research and creation, artists, researchers and professionals from the worlds of art and agriculture, as well as citizens’ associations, come together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
