The “Abstract Invader” residency is an artistic action developed in 2024 and 2025, conceived as a two-part residency connecting two territories and countries: the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence region, in Digne-les-Bains (France), and Malpartida de Cáceres (Spain). This initiative proposes an investigation into the physical, aesthetic, poetic, social, and political dimensions of these contexts, establishing a framework of exchange between distinct landscapes, institutions, and cultural realities.
The residency unfolds through two main moments: the first, in collaboration between OSSO and the Musée Gassendi, in Digne-les-Bains; the second, bringing together OSSO and the Museo Vostell Malpartida de Cáceres, in Extremadura. Organised by CAIRN Art Centre (France) and Museo Vostell Malpartida de Cáceres (Spain), the project involves the Portuguese collective OSSO, composed of Ricardo Jacinto, Rita Thomaz, and Ricardo Vieira. Through this transnational structure, “Abstract Invader” promotes artistic research grounded in dialogue between territories, reinforcing the importance of collaborative processes in the exploration of contemporary artistic practices.
