In 2017, the PES invited Erik Samakh to symbolize the network of contemporary art, between agriculture and biodiversity, which was then beginning. Samakh designed the installation of small electronic devices that mimic the light emission of fireflies during the night, alluding to the decrease in biodiversity, an installation that continues to shine over the mountains of Açor, Estrela, and Mesas. In July 2023, a pilgrimage In Search of Fireflies took place around the Rossim Dam, Serra da Estrela. The route was led by a biologist and a geologist, with artists and the general public participating. This pilgrimage is part of a set of three (one for each location with fireflies from the PES, Vale do Rossim, Nascente do Côa, Santa Luzia Dam) that the Project has been reissuing since 2017.
