Rodrigo Braga (Manaus, 1976) lives between Rio de Janeiro and Paris. He has exhibited regularly since 1999. He has works in private and institutional collections in Brazil and abroad, such as MAM-SP, MAM-RJ and Maison Européenne de La Photographie – Paris.Participation in the 30th São Paulo Biennial in 2012 consolidated Rodrigo Braga as a reference in Brazilian contemporary art, due to his radical interrogation of the animal and natural dimensions of human existence. The inscription of the body itself in literally natural contexts, in scenes of representation that develop in an interstice between the animal and the human, the natural and the cultural, and the density of matter and the symbolic dimension of his work make it, through photography, video and performance, a set capable of illuminating, through art, one of the most compelling and urgent aesthetic and political discussions of our time, namely, the one that interrogates the mutations and loss of centrality of the human condition and the re-emergence of its animal dimension within the framework of a world subjected to ideological tensions that incessantly project an illusion of globality and virtuality in the exercise of relationships between people.
