Ricardo Jacinto / Colectivo OSSO

OSSO is a collective structure created and maintained by artists and researchers from different fields — music and sound arts, visual arts, photography, dance, performance, design, architecture, and cinema. Since 2012, it has developed its activity around supporting creation, research, programming, and training, predominantly in a transdisciplinary framework, in collaboration with other artists and collectives and supported by public and private partnerships. Its projects, experimental in nature, seek to explore artistic practices in articulation with a critical, aesthetic, and political perspective that takes into account the specificity of the contexts and territories in which they are embedded. After being based at the Fundição de Oeiras (2012–15) and at the Lisbon Architecture Triennale headquarters (2016–17), in 2018 OSSO moved to a space in the village of São Gregório, Caldas da Rainha, where it has been developing an Artistic Residency programme, hosting both OSSO’s associated artists and other invited artists. This programme forms the centre of a wider set of activities in the areas of creation, education, programming, and artistic research, in collaboration with local, national, and international partners, always attentive to the rural community in which it operates. In this way, OSSO aims to be a meeting point for artists, actively engaging in dialogue with the local community, and continuously working toward the construction and maintenance of a place where artistic creation processes form the foundations of a community-based social, political, and ecological project.osso.pt
