Suivre la ligne
Unlike maps, which delineate borders with clear, imposing, and abstract lines, the physical world contains no visible traces, tangible walls, or apparent surveillance systems.
As part of my project Following the Line, I explore these borders on foot, guided by a GPS. My route takes me through mountainous areas, urban spaces, and rural landscapes. While I sometimes follow marked trails, I also leave them to venture into more wild and unpredictable environments.
The confrontation between the virtual line—digitally traced—and the physical reality of the terrain allows me to question the notion of borders in a different way: no longer as a geopolitical abstraction, but as a concrete, embodied, and sensory experience.
